Because I am simple of mind, here are some things I bought recently because of strategically placed ads encouraging me to do so.
I rather like this spray lotion. I recommend, but with caveats: It's rather light so perhaps not hardy enough for winter's dry skin. It can create a bit of a slippery situation on the wood floors in our bathroom, so I spray it while on the bath mat. I do still have to rub it on, so I'm not sure what the gal in the commercial is doing after spraying it on and then flipping into her clothes. Freak.
But! I love it for the gym locker room because then I can put on my lotion and only remain nudie in an open area for a limited amount of time.
What else.
Oh!
This!
Alpha Beta Daily Peel
Saw this mentioned in the Style Watch issue from People magazine and, holy snakes on a plane, am I sucker for a face potion. An affordable one at that. An affordable one that I can have delivered in two days via Amazon Prime.
So after the kids were in bed last night, I tore into it. Being not terribly sharp I didn't pay attention and instantly started rubbing Step 2 onto my face. "Hmm. I'm not feeling any tingling." Preen preen in the mirror. "My biznass doesn't look any tighter." Peer some more. Look down. "Aw balls. Eff. I've wasted a Step 2! Son of a... Sigh. Let's start over."
One application down and I did notice later that my skin was smooth. And I had a nasty blemish that I didn't leave alone and turned quite angry and oh my goodness will I never learn to just stop picking at it?! Anyway, I was worried that rubbing beta stuff on it would cause my face to burn and melt off, but it actually sped the healing up and this morning it all looked considerably less red and pissy. Win!
I recommend.
I guess that's all.

I continue to be thrilled with my shower breeze oral irrigator which is also available on amazon. Also I have been taking citrucel for the old 'roids and it is pretty nice. I guess that's pretty niche but really we can all use extra fiber.
Oh and I've been using that palmers oil stuff and I'm not sure if its making a huge difference but it smells nice.
I have been using coconut oil as a poor person's substitute for Latisse to make my eyelashes healthier/longer. Yesterday, someone who didn't know I'd been doing this, asked me what mascara I'd been using b/c my eyelashes looked so lovely. WIN!
I always pick at my skin too. Obsessively. I mostly buy the hippie all natural and/or Trader Joe's stuff so I don't have good advertised recs for you. Sorry.
1. I have been using that lotion for a couple weeks and love it.
2. Is there anything better than Amazon two day shipping? Seriously. I am also a sucker for face potions. Might try this one!
This potion:
Got 2b CrazySleek Hot Smooth Flat Iron & Blow Dry Lotion,
straightens and styles my hair like none other. Found it at Walgreens. Love it!
No great recs but I at first read that as
Alpha Beta Daily Pee! and I thought "What the fresh hell is she talking about?"
Clearly I need more coffee.
I really like the IDEA of the spray lotion, and bought some a few weeks ago to replace my gel body oil (more about that in a sec) but I agree- I didn't appreciate the commercial tricking me into thinking that you don't have to rub it in.
That was the main draw for me! I hate the lotion-hands portion of lotion application. Greasy fingers! I problem-solved my way out of it by rubbing my legs together like a cricket.
But anyway, I do recommend Vaseline's gel body oil. I think I'm going to switch back after I run out of spray lotion. It does a better job of keeping my skin from getting dry all day long. There is the greasy hands problem, but I started keeping it in the shower so I can just put it on and then turn the water back on to rinse my hands off.
Also, it led to the fun story Josh told me about that weird body wash he found in the shower and how he never could get it to lather. Ha. He also called it "that almond stuff" even though the label clearly says "cocoa."
Solugel4, you get it at the drugstore, sometimes you have to ask for it from behind te counter. That shizzle is amazing on breakout angry spots. It lasts me for years and works like stink. Whatever that means.
